Manifesting the perfect 2026 is not about “good vibes only”. Setbacks are a natural part of life, but honest desires, realistic limits, and simple rituals can keep you grounded when life does not follow the mood board!

One of the most effective ways to anchor your goals is through a vision board. Now, I know—it might seem like a project, but here’s the truth: extraordinary outcomes require intentional effort. When you’re willing to invest that energy into your future, you’ll be amazed at how quickly the universe meets you halfway. A vision board is more than just a collage–it's a contract that you sign with yourself–of being more disciplined, more authentic, and definitely more positive in your outlook.

From magic thinking to real life

"Manifestation used to sound like magical thinking; now it is slowly shifting toward evidence-based wellness and small, practical steps. Many young people are also pushing back on anything that feels like toxic positivity or aesthetic pressure, especially in beauty and body spaces," suggests Soneeya Asrani, a Mumbai-based Tarot Reader and Spiritual Healer.

"Vision boards, when used well, can act like a mirror that shows you what you actually care about, beneath trends and external expectations. Studies in counselling suggest that visual goal tools can help people clarify values, communicate what matters, and feel more hopeful and motivated about the future," she adds.

Prayer, too, can act as a powerful tool of manifestation, without turning the whole thing into glittery chaos or dogma. Many people today describe themselves as spiritual but not religious, and they still turn to things like prayer, meditation, or quiet intention-setting for grounding and meaning.

Instead of treating prayer like a wish list to the universe, frame it as a moment of focus: a pause to name what you want, what you fear, and what you are willing to work for. "Contemplative practices like prayer and meditation are linked with better emotional regulation and a stronger sense of purpose, especially when combined with other healthy habits," suggests Soneeya.

You could offer a simple, non-traditional “prayer for the year” that sounds more like an honest conversation than a spell: a few lines that acknowledge uncertainty, ask for courage and clarity, and end with a willingness to show up and do the work. Position it alongside vision boards and journaling as one more tool. It does not have to be mystical (although it can be, if that is what you are into) - just a quiet practice that helps you feel less alone in the process of building 2026.

Here is how you can create your 2026 vision board:

·Get rid of what you're tired of performing–a section that removes goals rooted in outside approval.

·Instead, focus on your immediate goals–what does enough look like for me?–a section about boundaries, money basics, and sustainable ambition.

· Lastly, figure out where your body feels safe–a section that centres sleep, nervous-system calm, and movement that feels good, not punishing.

Cheers to 2026: the year of being kind to yourself, and being enough, whatever that means to you. Here is to all of us.
